It was a record-breaking event in Rio de Janeiro, with 34,397 attendees from 102 countries taking part. We can’t wait to return to Riocentro in 2025.
Web Summit Rio 2024 was the fastest-growing Web Summit event ever, with more than 34,000 attendees from 102 countries networking alongside 1,066 startups, 499 investors and 175 event partners.
The event also set a new benchmark, with the highest proportion of women-founded startups at any Web Summit event, at 45 percent. On top of this, 47.5 percent of attendees and 39 percent of speakers at Web Summit Rio were women.
Top speakers from business and society joined us at Riocentro during the three-day event – including TBD CEO Mike Brock; Ripple president Monica Long; Canal KondZilla founder and director KondZilla; Grammy-winning artist Gilberto Gil; influencer and entrepreneur Bianca Andrade; Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo da Costa Paes; Grindr CEO George Arison; IBM chief impact officer Justina Nixon-Saintil; and Nubank chief technology officer Vitor Olivier – to share insights into where the world of tech is going.
